Surf Life Saving Qld is the largest volunteer movement of its kind in Australia. It is a not-for-profit organisation that exists only through community donations, fundraising and corporate sponsorship.

Beach Run Gold Coast
Beach Run Gold Coast is Australia’s foremost beach run. It is conducted from Broadbeach to Surfers Paradise and return, on the world famous Gold Coast beach. It hubs out of the famous Kurrawa Surf Lifesaving Club. This is Australia’s dominant SLSC and home to Australian Surf Life Saving championships for many years.
The events consist of 5 kms, 10 kms and a half marathon of 21 kms plus a one km run for kids of 13 and under. The race date is pitched at four weeks after the Gold Coast Runaway Bay marathon & 100 kms supermarathon. It is also just six days after the Gold Coast Airport Marathon. Thus it affords visitors to the Gold Coast the opportunity of coming for the marathon and staying for the Beach Run.
The purpose of the Beach Run is raise awareness and procure donations for the Surf Life Saving Association of Queensland. The Surf Lifesaving movement is Australia’s largest volunteer organisation. Thousands of volunteers give up thousands of hours of their time each year to be trained and then to train others on how to save lives. The Surf Life Saving movement is totally dependent on community support. Please consider doing one of the runs and making a donation to this most worthy cause.
